Biography


Tiina Annevirta (PhD) is University lecturer (2008–) at the Department of Teacher Education, Faculty of Educational Sciences, in University of Turku, Finland. Before that, she worked as a senior researcher, lecturer and supervisor at the Centre for Learning Research (1992–) in University of Turku. Her earlier scientific interests were learning, learning skills and learning difficulties (doctoral thesis 2006: Metacognition in young primary school children – A developmental approach). Nowadays her scientific and educational interests are more in teachers´ competence and skills to teach learning and thinking skills to all students thus they could become more self-regulating and well-being learners. Furthermore, strengthen teachers' ability to learn together and to build the multi-professional collaboration in the school context. She is currently also a head of the School Well-being Specialization program (ERKO) for advanced teachers (2016 –).
