My current research explores consumers’ hyperopic (excessively farsighted) decision-making tendencies. I approach hyperopia from a motivational psychology perspective, focusing specifically on the interplay between identity and self-regulation that underlies decision-making. Theories I draw on include self-control theory, self-determination theory, and motivated identity construction theory. My research contributes to a better understanding of consumer decision-making and consumer well-being.
