My current research explores consumers’ hyperopic (excessively farsighted) decision-making tendencies. I approach hyperopia from a motivational-psychology perspective, focusing specifically on the interplay between identity and self-regulation underlying decision-making. Theories I draw on include self-control theory, self-determination theory and motivated identity construction theory. This research contributes to a better understanding of consumer decision-making and consumer well-being.
