Luís Crisóstomo completed his BSc and his MSc on Biomedical Sciences at the University of Beira Interior, in Covilhã, Portugal. After his MSc, he worked as Software Engineer in a multinational Consulting company based in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2016, Luís returned to Fundamental Research and joined the Sertoli Cell & Gameta Biology research group, led by Prof. Marco G. Alves and Prof. Pedro F. Oliveira, at ICBAS - School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto, Porto, Portugal. In 2017, Luís started his PhD "Paternally-induced transgenerational effects of high-fat diets" after obtaining a 4-year doctoral grant by FCT - The Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. During his PhD, Luís studied the transgenerational effects of high-fat diet in metabolic and reproductive function of non-exposed progeny.
In 2022, Luís joined Mildner´s group at InFlames, UTU, to further explore the role of lipidome in inflammation in the context of high-fat diet and excess adiposity.
