Customer needs and experiences within services, family member as a customer, emotions, care services
Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS)
Henna works as a postdoctoral researcher in Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS). Her TIAS research project is entitled 'Fostering sustainable service systems through family member service inclusion'. Before this she worked in the STYLE project (funded by the Strategic Research Council at the Academy of Finland) at Turku School of Economics.
Simultaneously with doctoral studies she worked in two different TEKES funded projects, both related to emotions research. Her key areas of research interests are: service system resilience, customer needs, customer experience, family members as service customers, emotions and emotional value in healthcare and nursing services. Her doctoral research study concerned the vulnerabilities, needs, and experiencs of nursing service customers. In addition to service studies she has taken studies in psychology to deepen her understanding on emotions and human needs.
Henna's previous work experience builds mainly on project management in marketing communications (2006-2015), especially within the area of place branding and place marketing. As a project leader and project manager she has been responsible for key accounts (mainly Finnish public sector organisations), has participated in the customers’ strategy development and coordinated marketing communications projects. In addition, intraorganisation product and service development were included in her responsibilities. Before this she worked for Silja Line Ltd. (2000-2005) in various assignments: as a marketing communications assistant, as an assistant in the frequent traveller department and in sales and customer service assignments.
Teaching experience of being a supervisor for a Master's Thesis group (year 2016) and Bachelor's Thesis groups since 2017 in International Business at Turku School of Economics.
