Phonetics and Learning, Age & Bilingualism laboratory

I'm currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Phonetics and Learning, Age & Bilingualism laboratory research group. I have also worked as a project expert at the Department of Teacher Education in the University of Turku in 2021-2024.

I defended my doctoral dissertation (phonetics) on October 29th 2021 at the University of Turku.

My doctoral dissertation focuses on children's second language sound learning. In the four articles included in the dissertation, I examine the effects of different factors (age, learning environment, phonetic training methods) on school-aged children's second language sound perception and production learning.

As a member of the Phonetics and Learning, Age & Bilingualism laboratory research group, my current research focuses on second language learning, and especially Finnish as a second language learning. My previous research also includes research of indigenous Namibian languages and the production and perception of Namibian English.
