Research

My PhD project looks at domain-specific epistemic practices and conceptual understanding in the context of expertise in academic history. I am interested in questions such as these:

How do historians’ and history majors’ conceptualizations of “what is history” change along the developmental trajectory towards expertise in history?
What are the epistemic practices through which academic history is produced?
What are the criteria through which experts evaluate historical works?
How and why are certain fragments of the past chosen as worthy of historical research?
