My research carrier is devoted to computational modelling for materials science. I specialise in following key areas:
• modelling of potentiometric ion sensors,
• modelling of cement-based materials,
• solution of inverse problems,
• modelling of biological systems,
• modelling of batteries and battery materials,
• development of computer- aided material characterisation methods,
• techno-economical model “Home Energy Management System”.
Mathematical Modelling of Energy Storage Systems
My research focuses on the mathematical modelling of the transport processes and the theoretical description of Li-ion batteries, redox flow batteries (RFBs) and hydrogen production. It also includes the development of the techno-economical model - Home Energy Management System (HEMS).
In order to use the renewable energy sources in a large scale it is also essential to develop inexpensive batteries. The RFBs have been proposed as a promising technology for large scale energy storage. The better understanding of the physical and chemical processes occurring in RFBs may lead to the development of the next generation batteries for practical applications.
Other research includes modelling of electrochemical sensors, concrete-based materials and biological systems.
