Charika Swanepoel is a Doctoral Researcher at the English Department of the University of Turku. Her research concerns the syncretic religious enterprise of Irish poet, W.B. Yeats. Her Master's degree, completed at the North-West University in South Africa, compared the later works of W.B. Yeats and T.S. Eliot in the context of post-secularism. Her overall research interests include Modernism, religious syncretism, and secular philosophy.
Charika has taught at the North-West University in South Africa (2017-2021), Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki (2022-2023), Finland and and is currently university instructor at Tampere University.
