My doctoral research is about Finnish teachers' conceptions and experiences on implementing deliberative democratic education.
I work as doctoral researcher in the reseach project "Education for deliberation: Practices of inquiry in Dialogue-based Democratic Education (DELIBERATE)" funded by the Research Council of Finland. I am conducting my doctoral studies in the University of Turku. I graduated from the Tampere University as a class teacher in the spring of 2024. Previously I have worked as an elementary school teacher at the City of Tampere and a research assistant and study advisor at the Tampere University.
My research focuses on Finnish teachers' experiences on deliberative democratic education and their conceptions on implementing deliberative practices in the classroom and the school community. In addition to the classroom practices, the focus is on how teachers' societal values and attitudes and democratic school climate affect the implementation of deliberative democratic education.
