I have worked as a University Lecturer in political science at the University of Turku since January 2018.

I have studied practical philosophy in the University of Helsinki in 1998-2003 and later continued my PhD studies there in global politics. I worked as a doctoral candidate in the Network for European Studies in 2012-2013 and as a grant researcher in 2014. I defended my PhD thesis on EU role at the UN Human RIghts Council in 2016 in University of Helsinki.

I have also worked as a high school teacher for several years.

In my PhD research I studied the role of the European Union at the UN Human Rights Council. I have been particularly interested in questions concerning EU role (role theory) and identity in the world. I also find interesting different topics related to value aspects of EU foreign policy.

Currently I work on several topics: updating my PhD research data on EU effectivess at the UN HRC, EU leadership in international human rights fora, EU common asylum policy etc.
