At the moment I work as a Senior Reseacher in Contemporary History and study the security police’s activities during 1919 and 1948.

I defended my doctoral thesis in Finnish history in November 2023. In my thesis I researched the control policy of Finnish state police (Detective Central Police / State Police) and women suspected of high treason between 1919 and 1944. I explored what control meant in practice in the everyday life of state police surveillance, and how the gender of women suspected of state and treasonable offences influenced everyday surveillance.
