Abstract

The novel external threat in the business environment due to the coronavirus has forced many firms and their supply chains to adjust rapidly their business models or to innovate entirely new ones. This study examines how firms adapt their business models and corporate social responsibility (CSR) in times of radical crisis, and how do firms approach their supplier-customer relationships. The emphasis is on the functionality of the equation of business model, CSR, and business relationships. The comparative data will consist of interviews from 25-30 SMEs in three countries; Finland, Israel, and Spain. In practice the study tries to show how CSR in general is perceived in relation to the business model. The novel external threat in the business environment due to the coronavirus has forced many firms and their supply chains to adjust rapidly their business models or to innovate entirely new ones.
