Ever-changing societal forces impact the work of health and social care professionals. The aim of this study was to consult previousliterature to identify future working-life requirements that apply to both health and social care professionals. The knowledgeproduced by this study could contribute to the strategic planning of degree and continuing education. A scoping review wasconducted in which we searched for peer-reviewed scientifc papers published in English from January 2017 to October 2023. The28 papers selected in accordance with the predefned inclusion criteria were examined using thematic analysis. The fndings showthat health and social care professionals’ future working-life requirements still refect a traditional, client-centred, collaborativework orientation, such as in the use of advanced technology for care provision. It is worth noting that health and social careprofessionals are expected to integrate sustainability into all care and services. In addition, they are expected to be proactive andresilient so they can succeed in their future working lives. The fndings indicate that both degree and continuing education must beconstantly adapted to ensure health and social care professionals’ success and relevance in their complex and evolvingworking lives.
