When globally strategic centralized archives are challenged, it becomes possible to redistribute international authority. The so-called blockchain revolution proposes to re-distribute authority in the global political economy. Whoever holds the archive – in the case of the blockchain, the ledger – holds the authority. This paper questions how global digital economy, in particular, blockchain technology-based business, including cryptocurrencies and altcoin platforms, affect, on the one hand, regulation but, also, public power and authority that is supposed to yield to the governance of the blockchain revolution.
