The aim of this study was to retrospectively evaluate the results of proximal
rotational metatarsal ostotomy (PROMO) performed on hallux valgus (HV)
patients in Turku University Hospital during the year 2019 and spring of 2020.
The correction of HV was measured from pre- and postoperative radiographs.
Postoperative pain, symptoms and patient satisfaction were evaluated with
questionnaires. A total of 13 patients (13 feet) with a median age of 57 years
were included. The median follow-up was 9 months (range 6; 11 months).
The median HV angle correction was -12 degrees (range -21; -3 degrees), the
median intermetatarsal angle correction was -4 degrees (range -9; -1 degrees)
and the median rotational correction was -11 degrees (range -17; 9 degrees).
The median satisfaction grade was 8,5 in the range from 1 to 10.
