Abstract

Building a fixed transport connection from Vaasa to Umeå would make sense, write researchers Yrjö Myllylä and Jari Kaivo-oja. They believe that the Nordic Connector route would be a profitable investment and an engine for new regional development.

Construction of a fixed road connection between Riutunkari in Oulu and Huikku in Hailuoto has begun. There have also been talks of a fixed connection between Vaasa and Umeå.
