In this paper, we conduct a study on whether GPT-4 can be successfully used to aid in categorization of the research notes. Our test material consists of notes made on privacy policies and cookie consent banners presented at the online clothing marketplace websites. Our findings indicate that GPT-4 can be utilized in this fashion, but it must be closely supervised by the human researcher, as it is prone to producing erroneous information and peculiar categorizations. We will also raise several points about the general quality of the answers generated by GPT-4 and their applicability for use in scientific research.
