This article is based on my lectio praecursoria, the introductory lecture given at the public defence of my dissertation Access to (M)ALL: Redesigning a literacy support serious game app in a participatory design approach with Finnish language and literacy teachers of adult migrants with limited/interrupted formal education on the 5th of April 2025. My dissertation was publicly examined by Senior Lecturer Linda Bradley (University of Gothenburg), with Senior Lecturer Mari Honko (University of Jyväskylä) functioning as my custos and Professor Martha Bigelow (University of Minnesota) as external pre-defence reviewer.
