Several clients utilize Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC-UA) tools, including UA Expert, Prosys, and others. These tools are excellent for monitoring data from OPC-UA servers. However, this research article discusses the process of developing a custom tool using Node OPC-UA and node.js. The tool was designed to establish a client/server connection with the OPC-UA server at the Savonia University of Applied Sciences Water Lab. The research explores the implementation of node.js to establish a successful connection and develop an application that leverages real-time communication. This application effectively transmits data to a client and is constructed using React. This study investigated the impact of incorporating an additional level of abstraction on enhancing security measures and improving the efficiency of data monitoring and analysis. The application utilized the cloud-based database MongoDB to store and retrieve data.
