This paper looks at ICT-management and the challenge of developing systems and infrastructures that function as a reliable basis for business activities and processes. In many cases resources are limited and there is a need for outside expertise and partnerships with providers of ICT-related services and technologies. The views expressed in this article are based on empirical notions from an environment where several critical systems and technologies are brought together in an organizational merger. In this setting, ICT-management is pressured to integrate and harmonize different types of systems and technologies. It has been noticed that expertise in management, development, and maintenance are critical success factors.
