Abstract
The number of international schools has mushroomed in the past few decades. In particular, the International Baccalaureate (IB) has dramatically expanded its reach in recent years. As a result, more and more teachers are working in international schools. However, there seems to be a lack of books about effective pedagogy in an international school context. This book aims to respond to this need by being future-facing and offering fresh insights into international education. Research on how teachers best teach and how students best learn is constantly being updated and views change. For instance, increased access to information and the recognition of how important creativity and divergent thinking is in learning are forcing schools to redefine their educational approaches and curricula. As a result of the educational field changing quite rapidly, many teachers seem to struggle with how to sensibly implement new trends in practice. In order to remain afloat in an ocean of information, much of it extremely theoretical, teachers need practical explanations and examples. This book endeavours to provide exactly that: a wealth of practical examples.
