Abstract

Rashmi Singla has done what many people think should be done, a follow-up study of young people with immigrant background. The initial material was gathered in the mid-1990s, and published under the name of Youth Relationships, Ethnicity & Psychosocial Intervention in 2004 (New Delhi: Books Plus). At the time the youth were in their late teens or early adulthood. She repeated the interviews after ten years in 2005–2006. The original sample of fourteen was by then reduced to nine. Now and Then– Life Trajectories, Family Relationships, and Diasporic Identities tells the story of the changes that taken place during the year period. Rashmi Singla is an associate professor in the Department of Psychology and Educational Studies, Roskilde University, Denmark.
