Abstract

Our contemporary capitalist model, consumption needs, legal infrastructure, and the labor-market structure are complex and all integral to the significant challenges we face with issues related to the global exploitation of migrant workers. This presentation's main objective is to highlight humanitarian sensitivities and economic benefits are not mutually exclusive. The entries to improved paths are multifarious. By introducing examples from Finland and Switzerland, I relate some key elements to the situations in Japan.
