This chapter is a tribute to Mike Wright. Michael (Mike) Wright, born in 1952, passed away on November 25, 2019, was a professor of entrepreneurship, the director of the Centre for Management Buy-out Research at Imperial College Business School and a Fellow of the British Academy of Social Sciences and the British Academy of Management. He was the Entrepreneurship Division Chair of the Academy of Management in 2011‒2012. Mike Wright was a very prolific researcher and served as an editor or a member of editorial boards in many top academic journals. In this chapter, I first highlight the influential role of Mike in the entrepreneurship field. I then focus on my personal relationship with him. Finally, I discuss Mike Wright’s social identity as an entrepreneurship scholar and conclude this chapter, sharing what I have understood of Mike Wright’s legacy.
