Abstract

Riassunto: Partendo dalla letteratura classica, l’articolo presenta un excursus
nella cartografia medievale, per risalire alla conoscenza del Settentrione,
dalla Gronelandia alla Fennoscandia, passando per l’Islanda, e proporre una
riflessione sull’immagine di tali luoghi trasmessa nel corso dei secoli.
Abstract: Starting from classical literature, this article presents an excursus in
medieval cartography, in order to go back to the knowledge of the North,
from Greenland to Finland and Scandinavia, passing by Iceland, and in order
to propose an analysis on the representation of these countries over the
centuries.
