Abstract

Design Thinking has progressively crept into science and healthcare education, and it has proven to be a welcome introduction. Not only does it instigate creative confidence in students, but also opens additional avenues for innovation of outstanding healthcare issues. Design Thinking is especially beneficial in nursing education, with future nurses being at the forefront of healthcare and interacting with patients, where empathy, a key Design Thinking element, is essential. In this chapter, we describe our own experiences and insights into how to deliver Design Thinking courses in healthcare and the student experience throughout such courses.
