Abstract

University of Turku arranged in 2023 a graduate course on Sustainability Engineering in Namibia. For the six weeks’ long field module of the course, a team of Finnish university students, were taken to Namibia, to co-design with local people, how to engineer sustainability to improve their livelihood. The course helped to reset an ICT oriented activity center in town. The pilot course gave suggestions on how to further integrate sustainability engineering skills, currently non-existing in the CC2020 curricula, in a Computing curriculum in Sub-Saharan Africa.
