This special issue focuses on urban technologies, digitalization, innovations, and solutions related to all dimensions of sustainability. United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) indicate broad definition of sustainability and we welcome papers related to one or more these goals and definitions of sustainable development. Suitable topics include e.g. studies on digitalization (e.g. AI, Open Data, Big Data, Urban Analytics), urban development technologies, technology clusters, and green innovations in cities. The theme issue welcomes article proposals that will provide insight to spatial formations of information, communication, technologies and knowledge production from the various perspectives including analyses public and private sectors together with NGOs and other stakeholders. Potential papers may focus on theoretical developments or empirical analyses. The articles are targeted to academic community as well as practitioners, such as spatial developers, planners and officers in order to increase understanding of the dynamics and factors effecting urban form, structure, and spatiality. Analytical contributions to the challenges and obstacles in decision making in major cities or/and smaller ones are warmly welcome.
