Abstract
The chapter discusses trends in the paradigm shifts of mathematics teaching and how those trends seem to be changing the Finnish teaching culture in schools. The considerations are based on a study to examine the most typical conceptions of what the teaching of the advanced course of mathematics at the upper secondary school nowadays in Finland usually is like, what it should be like, and how the students believe that it is developing during the next 15 years.
