Abstract

The purpose of this symposium is to advance our understanding of the meaning and significance of increasing organizational jargon. By elaborating concepts such as 'aspirations', 'grandiosity', 'bullshit' and 'post-truth' we seek to theorize their meaning for organizational theory and managerial work. We elaborate how this jargon is not mere nonsense but is embedded to manipulative purposes and agendas in organizational contexts. We seek to bring together scholars from various disciplines, particularly from critical management studies, strategic management, organization theory, management education and organizational ethics to offer a platform to jointly discuss the phenomenon.
