Two new species of Filistatidae are described from Iran: Filistata maguirei sp.n. (male female) from the surroundings of the Geno Biosphere Reserve (Hormozgan Province) and Pritha garfieldi sp.n. (male female) from the southern macroslopes of the Alborz Mountains (Tehran Province). The subfamily Prithinae is recorded for the first time in Iran and the number of Iranian genera and species of Filistatidae is increased to four and nine; this is the highest species-richness for this family in the Western Palaearctic, and the highest genera-richness in the entire Palaearctic.
