This chapter reviews different options of materials and designs for fabricating fiber-reinforced resin composite fixed dental prostheses (FRC FDP). Fabrication of pontics using conventional layering techniques or incorporation of CAD/CAM technologies and the influence of fiber framework design on the fracture resistance of such prostheses are elaborated upon. Furthermore, some recommendations are provided for clinical applications and information on future trends is specified that might contribute to the existing knowledge of fabricating long-lasting FRC FDPs.
