The complex relationship of cultural heritage with cultural relict plants, landraces and old varieties has become more obvious in resent years. The article deals with the role and potential of local heritage museums in these processes. In Finland they are recognized important actors in gathering, maintaining and distributing local landraces as well as promoting the awarness of them and their local histories.
