Tiivistelmä
Drawing on the findings of a larger research project examining discursive practices in managerial meetings this paper takes a micro-analytical view on financial reporting as a distinctive discussion practice. In the studied managerial team managing, compiling and presenting the financial reports allowed for one organizational actor most control over the topic and direction of the discussion. The detailed analyses of meeting discussions as lived experience illustrate how financial reporting becomes a pervasive and taken-for-granted discursive practice in the management meetings. The study also shows how reporting talk constructs and sustains differentiated participant roles that allow for differentiated opportunities to contribute to the meeting discussions.
