Abstract

This study approaches Nordic resilience as a continuum and multi-level process exploring how resilience emerges in three overlapping phases which we call here resistance, endurance and transformation. Through mixed-methods combining earlier literature and a unique set of interview material collected in the Nordics in 2021-2022 the study aims to develop a heuristic model of Nordic resilience/s. The research builds on the notion that Norden is a strategically shared space, where resilience perceptions across countries, regions and communities are aligned. The study focuses on the similarities and convergent factors across the region, yet it does not neglect the differences. The main question is, what are the main factors of Nordic resilience(s)?
