A solvent-free ball-milling method for synthesizing structurally diverse disulfide and thiosulfonate derivatives from readily available, odorless sodium sulfinates has been developed. This convenient mechanochemical protocol allows the rapid and chemo-selective construction of disulfides and thiosulfonates.
