An international development project is a great opportunity to collect data from multiple countries. But questions of what datasets and how to collect and – and what for – are never obvious. The challenges grow when there are multiple aims for collecting datasets. When students and researchers collect data for their research projects or related business studies, they can combine qualitative and quantitative approaches, resulting in analysis, reports, and publications making use of mixed methods. In cases where such an approach is undertaken across national boundaries, additional challenges can arise.
