This study examines achievement goal orientations and teacher-child interaction in a preschooler's craft, design and technology learning process. The aim is to provide information for developing guidance in preschoolers’ craft education. The research questions are: 1.) What are the elements describing the achievement goal orientations of the preschoolers in a craft, design and technology learning process? 2.) What kind of teacher-child interaction supports differently orientated preschoolers' needs in a craft, design and technology learning process? The study is a qualitative, ethnographic case study and the data consists of interviews of the children (N = 14) in one preschool group and the assessment of their teacher. The results reveal three groups of learners, which are presented as three learner-type descriptions. The aim of the descriptions is to help a teacher to plan and implement craft, design and technology learning processes of preschoolers with various goal-orientations.
