This chapter discusses team teaching as a pedagogical choice building on teachers’ shared expertise as well as on a consciously developed set of agreed-upon professional practices, such as shared orchestration of student learning. The aim of team teaching is to create an inspirational and motivating learning experience for students and opportunities for continuous learning and professional development for teachers. For students, team-taught invention projects could offer more versatile provision of instructional styles, learning tasks, and scaffolding than similar projects taught by an individual teacher. Moreover, the expertise of a teacher team facilitates high-quality assessment of the students’ work, as student achievements can be recognized and appreciated in a more nuanced way. Furthermore, the chapter highlights the importance of national and local contexts, as well as the need for school-level support structures.
