Abstract

The omnipresent Leevi Lehto’s influence on Finnish twenty-first century poetry can hardly be exaggerated. He experimented in the fields of poetry, translations and publishing, and his work has encouraged others to invent new means of expression and new ways of distributing poetry. He was an unusual international figure in Finnish poetry, whose work – also in organizing networks and introducing French theory and American poetry – has influenced poets both in Finland and abroad, especially in the Nordic countries. His innovative ways in both publishing and poetry relied on the possibilities provided by the new technologies.
