The main role of the Language Centre of the University of Turku is to provide language and communication skills teaching to students across the university. It is, therefore, essential that the Language Centre has an accurate picture of the language and communication skills needed by students at this, the beginning of the 21st century.  This picture of the necessary skills can then inform strategic development in terms of key focus areas, use of resources and the language and skills needed by the university going forward. To this end, in spring 2013, the Language Centre carried out a university-wide analysis of the language and communication needs of the students and faculties via a series of electronic questionnaires.
