Summary: CULTCTRL is comparative investigation of canonization and inquisition processes of the late Middle Ages. From the perspective of lived religion, we focus on the tensions between normative demands of centralising ecclesiastical power and newly emerging forms of lay devotion with the Computer-Assisted Semantic Text Modelling. Our focus is on social variables of the participants and 3 thematic questions: encounters with various religious specialists, ritual participation, and emotional practices.
