Sanaz Nazari Farsani
Health Technology, Neuroscience, AI, Biomedical Data Analysis
I am a senior researcher with over 8 years of experience in machine learning and data analysis within the biomedical field. My expertise lies in applying AI-based solutions to health technology challenges, with the goal of enhancing diagnosis and treatment, minimizing patient risk, and reducing clinicians' workload.
I got my B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2012, M.Sc. in Biomedical Imaging from Åbo Akademi University in 2014, and Ph.D. in Medical Imaging from the University of Turku in 2020. In 2021, I joined Stanford University at MIIL Lab as a postdoctoral research fellow for three years. Currently, I am a senior researcher at the Human Emotion System Laboratory at Turku PET Centre.
My research interests focus on the application of AI in medical image analysis and processing. I have a strong interest in PET/MRI imaging, in particular, lesion segmentation and prediction from brain MRIs, medical image translation, and PET image denoising.
