I defended my dissertation in December 2021, in the University of Turku. In my dissertation, I studied the evaluative linguistics targeting books and literature in the sixteenth-century England. My dissertation is accessible through the UTUPub system.
I currently work as a post-doctoral researcher in the Academy of Finland project Early Modern Graphic Literacies, based at the University of Turku. I study the spread and development of different types of graphic and visual information transference tools, such as diagrams and diagrammatic elements, tables, and images.
I am the secretary of the Finnish book historical society (Suomen kirjahitoriallinen seura), and a board member of the Finnish Socity for the Study of English (FINSSE). I also acted as the FINSSE Webmaster for 2020-2024.
My current reseach deals with the promotional signifiance of graphics, and the use and adaptation of visual information trasference tools for the genre of military manuals in the sixteenth century England.
My most recent publication deals with the taxonomies of graphics, and the taxonomization of historical graphical devices. I've previously published on book history, paratextuality, evaluative language, and the Appraisal Framework. I'm also interested in topics in genre studies, where I am working on historical paratextual genres, and library sciences, such as library history, collections history, and metadata and collections structures.
I am currently teaching academic writing (BS level), and have previously given individual lectures on academic writing, graphic communication in early modern england, and paratextuality. I completed English language teacher's proficiency (60 sp) as a part of my MA.
