historical pragmatics; Middle English; Early Modern English; multimodality in early texts

I obtained my doctoral degree from the University of Turku in 2018. Later that year, I accepted a teaching position at Stockholm University, Sweden, where I spent the following four years.

My main area of interest is the history of English, in particular the medieval and early modern periods. My Ph.D. dissertation focused on representations of conflict talk in early English debate poetry. Since then, I have developed an interest in multimodal communication in early English books and manuscripts. My current project focuses on instructive language and multimodal resources in early English dance manuals.

My current teaching includes courses on English phonetics, spoken English and academic writing and speaking. I am also in charge of some book exams on second language acquisition. In the past, I have also taught introductory courses on normative grammar, pragmatics, semantics and sociolinguistics.
