I am a cultural historian interested in popular culture studies and media history. Before starting at my present teaching post in 2015, I worked as a co-ordinator (University of Turku: Open University, Centre for Extension Studies and Faculty of Humanities) and as a project researcher.

My main research area focuses on media history and popular culture studies. After my dissertation project in 2004, I have published the biography of Radio Presenter Markus Rautio (2015). Since then, I have worked as a researcher in an Academy of Finland project (Intermedia). I have also participated in collaboration which produced two relatively extensive history books. These books include the history of the Turku Cooperative Company (Turun Osuuskauppa) and the history of theatre life in the city of Turku

I work as a University Lecturer in the Department of Cultural History at the University of Turku.
