paratextuality; material philology; Middle English; late medieval manuscripts; early printed books
I defended my PhD at the University of Turku in 2020 and currently work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of English (School of Languages and Translation Studies). My research interests are situated at the intersection of philology, historical linguistics, textual scholarship, and the study of material books (manuscripts and printed books). I am particularly interested in the phenomena of para- and metatextuality, the material and visual aspects of written texts, and multilingual practices.
In 2021 (March-December) I held the part-time position of the co-ordinator for Langnet, a national network for doctoral programmes in languages and linguistics in Finland, at Åbo Akademi.
In 2022-2023 I work as a postdoctoral researcher in the project Early Modern Graphic Literacies (EModGraL; PI Professor Matti Peikola), funded by the Adacemy of Finland (2021-2025).
