 Biography 
 Research 
Sonja Vilenius is currently writing a PhD thesis on community benefit agreement, a regulatory instrument applied mainly in the mining context. Community benefit agreement has been developed to manage the complex relationship between mining companies and local communities. The focus of the research lies in the reasons for implementing this new regulatory instrument and its application possibilities. The thesis is theoretically engaging with regulatory theory.
 Teaching 
Vilenius occupies a supportive task in environmental law.
