Interprofessional collaboration, child protection, participation

Tutkimusaiheet: Moniammatillinen yhteistyö, lastensuojelun kysymykset, Menneet tutkimushankkeet: LANUPS-hanke, NEPSOS-hanke

I work at the University of Turku as a University Lecturer in Social Work. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Sciences and I am a licensed social worker. In addition, I have completed specialist training in social work with a focus on child, youth, and family social work.

I have worked in various social work roles involving practical client work, mostly in the field of child protection. I have also been involved in development work, particularly focused on improving practices in demanding child protection settings.

I'm a doctoral researcher in Social Work at the University of Turku. My dissertation focuses on collaboration between professionals in the context of demanding child protection work. By demanding child protection, I refer to complex and challenging situations faced by children and families, which require transprofessional cooperation.

I have participated in two research projects in social work:

  • LANUPS project, which examined joint clients of child protection and adolescent psychiatry.
  • NEPSOS project, which focused on service pathways for neurodivergent youth.

My research interests include interprofessional collaboration and broader issues related to child protection. I am also particularly interested in youth participation and power.

Currently, I work in teaching roles in Social Work. My responsibilities include supervising practical training periods in advanced studies, teaching a multiprofessional clinical course, leading a qualitative research practice group, and facilitating the bachelor’s seminar. In addition, I teach the course Professional Confrontation of Domestic Violence.
